Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Initial Certification (Classroom Only | Two-days)

This Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Initial Certification course is an American Heart Association (AHA) instructor-led program designed for healthcare professionals who respond to emergencies in infants and children. The course uses simulated pediatric emergencies, hands-on skills stations, and team-based scenarios to develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage critically ill pediatric patients.

This is a classroom-only, in-person course and spans two days for a total of approximately 12–16 hours of instruction, practice, and evaluation.

All students must complete the AHA PALS Precourse Self-Assessment and score at least 70% prior to attending class. Unlimited attempts available.

Course Topics Include:

  • Pediatric assessment and early recognition of respiratory and shock states
  • High-quality CPR for infants and children
  • Management of respiratory emergencies and arrhythmias
  • Vascular access, fluid and medication administration
  • Team dynamics and leadership during pediatric resuscitation
  • Post-resuscitation stabilization

 

Who Should Attend:

Pediatricians, emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and all healthcare providers involved in pediatric emergency care.

 

Format: In-person, classroom-based only

Duration: 2 days (12–16 hours total)

Certification: AHA PALS Provider eCard (valid for 2 years)

Prerequisites:

  • Current BLS Provider certification
  • Completion of the AHA PALS Precourse Self-Assessment with ≥70%
